2021-2022 Trail Reports
Trail Report 3-12-22
That's a wrap folks. We have shut down for the season. We'd like to thank everyone who enjoyed our trails, volunteers, and club members for making this season another success. Cheers to another winter!
Trail Report 2-26-22
We received quite a bit of powdery snow which is enough to get things back open. We will not be grooming just yet but we will reassess early this week. There will be rocks, water bars, ice under the snow, and the tracks on the RR bed will be exposed. The lake has also taken a beating with the warm weather. There's plenty of ice but the shorelines have opened up in many places. We'll have another update in a few days. Have fun and be careful!
Trail Report 2-18-22
We experienced 50+degree temps overnight and pouring rain. That was the nail in the coffin for our trail system. Trails closed until further notice.
Trail Report 2-17-22
There is not much to say. Fool's Spring has arrived, killing our trails. What base we had been building in January has slowly melted to hard ice in February. Trails are still open but ungroomed. You will find SPRING like conditions. Ride safe, take caution, good luck.
Trail Report 2-11-22
Message from our trail master Bruce and groomer operator Jim:
The majority of our trail system was groomed in the past 12 hours (Bruce on the late night shift, Jim on the very early shift) excluding 300 to Meredith Woods, which we thought it was in great shape and did not need to be groomed at this time. We were able to make a trip to Ashland on the rail bed which is in ok shape, some holes and rails showing throughout. Everything is in fairly good shape considering the snow conditions and rain we continue to have. Keep an eye out for waterbars, holes and bare spots as there just isn’t enough snow to make things perfect. Unfortunately we are facing a warm up and expecting heavy traffic this weekend. We will see how things hold up and will groom as temperatures and conditions permit.
This weekend is the Rotary Fishing Debry and the Laconia Sled dog derby! Please ride safely!
Trail Report 2-7-22
After a weekend of heavy traffic, we groomed Corridor 15 toward Center Harbor, the Meetinghouse (Mug) Trail, as well as the Bayview Trail last night. We found lots of large moguls and snow pushed off just about every corner. We will be working this week to get everything back in shape. Hopefully we can get up the railbed (need more snow! as well as through the town forest soon. We are anticipating another busy weekend with the Rotary Fishing Derby. It’s nice to see snowmobiles out and enjoying our trails and supporting our local establishments.
Trail Report 2-3-22
Moderate to good trails. All 100% groomed before the warm up. Last weekend's storm provided a lot of powder which ended up blowing off of any open trail areas (corridor 8, railbed). We are hopeful tomorrow's storm will provide some wet, heavy, good packing snow. In the meantime during this heatwave try to stay off the trails or ride sofly. Let's try to preserve what we have going for us. Colder weather will be setting in at the beginning of the weekend. Safe riding all!
Trail Report 1-28-22
We have groomed our entire trail network 2 times this week. Everything is hard and flat. The railbed (corridor 8) is flat but has exposed rails. Hopefully Saturdays storm will bring us the snow we need. Safe riding, enjoy the trails!
Trail Report 1-25-22
We completed some grooming on the east side of town. This includes corridor 15 towards Center Harbor, the Meetinghouse trail towards Holderness, Bayview trail and corridor 15 towards Lake Waukewan. Throughout this week we will groom the west side of town.
Trails are holding up with some bony areas. Ride safe all!
Trail Update 1-19-22
Groomer was out today and groomed the railbed right into Ashland. Rails are still exposed. Ride with caution.
Trail Update 1-18-22
TRAILS ARE OPEN FOR THE 2022 SEASON
Get your gear out of the closet and dust those sleds off! The riding season in Meredith has begun. The storm left between 6-10 inches of snow followed by a bit of rain before colder temps moved in last night. This is perfect to set the base around the Lakes Region to get this season rolling.
From the Trailmaster:
The meeting house trail to the old center harbor meeting house groomed. Note new signs and new trail. Bay View trail groomed. 300 to Meredith woods groomed and grooming this morning 1/18/22. Twin Barns trail groomed. Meredith Center area trails - Frank Corliss, Windsong, Bear point grooming today 1/18/22. Corridor 8 Railbed pass at own risk, ungroomed, tops of rails showing. Corridor 15 towards Center Harbor, grooming later today 1/18/22. Corridor 15 towards Waukewan (Meredith Woods) ungroomed. Need more snow.
This is what we wait all year for, so get otuside and enjoy winter! Please note that the ice on the big lake is still not safe.
